Just some non-policy things we found on the Internet this week that you might also enjoy.
We’re the night mayor now, Ottawa
We are expanding the PolicyJobs universe to Ottawa this week 🌏🌎🌍
Pizza is v important to PolicyJobs so we were thrilled to discover the existence of an Ottawa Pizza Podcast (Eds: One of our Springboard team members moved to Ottawa last year and has to say that “Ottawa-style” pizza is….cheese forward)🍕🍕🍕
Policy in parks is another one of our favourites. Like how Jack Purcell Park was accidentally designed to honour the wrong Jack Purcell.🏞️🛝🌲
And it is always worth saying thank u to Ottawa for giving us Alanis 🎤🎸🙏
The math isn’t mathing
Trump’s tariffs math is bad as well as damaging– but who among us hasn’t tried to make our work seem fancier than it is with Greek symbols? ➕➖➗🟰
Hard to say why all the airplane crashes are happening right now, but this 80s Air Canada crash came from a conversion error (thankfully no math fatalities) 🛬🛫🛩️
The history of math symbols is not so universal after all 🤔📜✖️
